Viral Bucks is another website that claims you can make $500 right now just by opening an account, referring others, and the usual steps. According to its founder, it has grown over 200,000 active members since its establishment in 2017.
Since then, it says it’s paid over $50 millions to members, but it’s all just a lie. A simple Google search shows you they’re a lot newer than they claim, and their traffic stats aren’t surprising.
Thankfully, this gives us a chance to learn more about these scams. If it’s your first time reading about them, let me guide you through the obvious signs.
Viral Bucks: what is it?
Viral Bucks claims to be an influencer network. In theory, these sites link influencers with companies around the world. The latter pay the platform for this service, and the platform pays the former a cut from this ad revenue.
However, “influencer network” is a term that—in my experience—always translates into scam. They claim to pay up to $500 every day: $25 for signing up, $10 for every referral you make to the platform, and $2 for every click—even if they don’t register.
Considering you don’t have to pay anything to join the network, it sounds risk-free. That’s not entirely the case, though. I’ll get to that in a bit.
You won’t learn anything about the business model in their website. All information focuses on getting you hyped to start working. They only mention how you can withdraw your money and how much you can make.
You’ll be disappointed if you want to learn where the money comes from. Viral Bucks only mentions what I said above: splitting ad revenue with its members. That’s curious because you’ll find almost no ads on their platform.
Verifying their claims
Now, they say they’ve been around since 2017, but you know that’s easy to check. The website was created last year, and the same goes for their social media presence: Facebook, because they have no Instagram.
I’ll be honest with you and tell you I think this is quite funny. They boast about how it only took them 3 years (since 2017) to become the largest influencer network. However, I’d argue it would be a more impressive feat to achieve that in a year—the time they’ve really been around.
Of course, they won’t mention that because they need you to believe they have experience. They also claim to have paid millions, but there’s no way to check their real revenue. Having almost no ads on their page doesn’t make it any easier.
It’s a repeated scam
The payment structure and promises are the same as websites like Influencer Cash, SwagPay, Tap 2 Earn, and countless other websites. When I say “the same” I mean it; those 3 websites also offer $25 for sign-ups, $10 for referrals, and $2 for clicks.
In fact, Viral Bucks is identical to a couple of other websites following the same scheme: Viral Pay and Viral Dollars. They even have extremely similar names, and both websites were also confirmed scams.
My bet is that they come from the same creator, but good luck finding a name behind this website.
The scam is always the same: it harvest personal information.
How does the scam work?
All influencer networks I’ve come across have been the same: phishing websites or data harvesters. All their claims are there to get you to register to their website—i.e. Give them your personal information.
You guessed it: that’s also why it asks you to refer people to it. Its goal is to collect all the data it can.
If you check out the list of tasks to your left—the ones offering $30 per task—you find several surveys and competitions. If you pay attention to detail, you should quickly realize how you won’t actually find available surveys; survey companies are very careful about whom they partner with.
Even the gift cards are outrageous: up to $1,000 in prizes. Of course, you need to provide your personal information before entering any competition.
The Viral Bucks method
This is where the phishing scam comes into play. The real way Viral Bucks and other websites make money is by selling its members’ information to advertisers. That doesn’t mean your data will only be used for spam ads, however.
An ill-intended hacker can use your information to ask for loans and even access your bank account. These websites often ask for your phone number and even physical address, so things can go horribly.
As for your money, you’ll keep growing your balance, but you’ll never be able to withdraw it. If you want to make real money, there isn’t any shortcut; you need effort and patience.
In today’s day and age, there are a ton of gurus selling scams promising you to make millions of dollars overnight without putting in any work and a lot of them are for making money online.
I have tried and reviewed a lot of these garbage programs on my website and in saying that I must admit there are still some programs which are actually worth it and are quite good.
Out of all the legit programs that I have personally seen, one of the best ones I always recommend to almost anyone starting out is Wealthy Affiliate. This is one of the best places to start as a beginner.
It is one of the most comprehensive training out there teaching you almost everything you need to get started making money online. Not only do they teach you everything, but they also provide you with almost all the tools you need. It’s like an all in one platform.
One thing I love about this is that there is really no limit to how much income you can earn and it’s quite simple, requires no experience to get started so anyone can do it.
Guys, I have tried many different legit business models including dropshipping, social media marketing, drop servicing and more!
And to be fair, I have actually lost a lot of money trying out guru courses, training, webinars and things just not working/making any money.
Trust me, while those other businesses are legit and do work, they are a lot more cash-intensive and harder than affiliate marketing.
This here is NOT to brag but, to show you a small chunk of what I make online with affiliate marketing just to show you proof that I have done it.
Quite a few wealthy affiliate members actually earn over 5-figures per month! (That’s crazy, I am not there yet.)
Keep in mind that this is NOT a get rich quick scheme, you will NOT make money by just clicking a button.
This does require work like everything in life worth getting but, it’s worth it because eventually, you can not only work from the comfort of your home earning a full-time income but, start making passive income from this business.
If your looking to get started in a proper legitimate long term business you should definitely look into joining wealthy affiliate. It’s FREE to get started!
Read my comprehensive review on Wealthy Affiliate to basically see if it’s something you want to join or not.
And if you have any questions or concerns, feel free to let me know, I will be more than happy to help you out!
